Salvation Made Simple: Back to God’s Original Design

Salvation: Back to Original Design

We often think of salvation as something complicated — a religious process, a list of steps, or something reserved for “perfect” people.

But what if it’s much simpler than that?

Let’s think about something we use every day — a phone or a computer.

The Creator Knows the Design — and the Purpose

Every device is created by someone.

Whether it’s an iPhone or a Mac, it was designed by people who know exactly how it works — every part, every system, every requirement for it to function at its best.

But more than that…

The creator doesn’t just know how it works.
They know why it was created.

They understand:

  • Its purpose
  • Its intended use
  • What belongs in it
  • What doesn’t
  • And what will cause it to fail

When We Add What Doesn’t Belong

Now imagine this…

You take an iPhone or a MAC (Apple computer) and decide to “upgrade” it yourself.
But instead of using Apple parts, you add components from another maker, from a Samsung phone or a Dell computer.

What happens?

It might still turn on.
It might even function a little.
But it won’t work the way it was designed to.

Things will glitch.
Systems will conflict.
Performance will be off.

Why?

Because it’s no longer operating according to its original design.

Understanding Sin — More Than an Action

This is where we need to pause and redefine something important: sin.

Sin is often thought of as just doing something “bad.”

But it’s deeper than that.

Sin is anything that goes against the original design and intent of the Creator.

It’s not just the act —
it’s the misalignment.

It’s functioning outside of what we were created for.

That’s What Happened to Us

God created us.

He designed us — fully, completely, intentionally.
He knows every part of us: physical, emotional, and spiritual.

But when sin entered, it corrupted that design.

It’s like our internal system became misaligned.
Disconnected.
Not functioning the way it was meant to.

And here’s something important to understand:

This didn’t just happen individually —
it happened at the root of humanity.

Because of that, sin isn’t just something we do.
It’s something we were born into.

So even if we look at our lives and say,
“I’ve lived well… I haven’t done anything major…”

The truth is, we were still operating from a system that was already misaligned.

Not because of what we personally started —
but because of what we inherited.

We Can’t Fix Ourselves

Here’s the reality:

A broken system can’t fix itself.

No matter how much we try —
through good behavior, discipline, or effort —
we can’t restore the original design on our own.

The only One who can fix it…
is the One who made it.

God Didn’t Patch It — He Restored It

That’s where Jesus comes in.

God didn’t send a quick fix.
He didn’t just give better instructions.

He restored the system completely.

“The life is in the blood.”

Through Jesus, God didn’t just adjust behavior —
He restored life at the core.

A full reset.
A complete restoration.
Back to original design.

Our Part: Acknowledge and Accept

Just like in recovery, the first step is honesty.

We have to recognize:

👉 Something isn’t working the way it should.

When we acknowledge sin, we are saying:

“I recognize that I have not been living according to the original design.”

From there:

  • We acknowledge the problem (sin — misalignment)
  • We accept the solution (Jesus — restoration)
  • We return to the Creator

What Salvation Really Is

Salvation is not religion.
It’s not rules.
It’s not about trying harder.

It’s about restoration.

Creation → Corruption → Restoration

And restoration only comes from the One who designed us in the first place.

Final Thought

If something you created broke, you wouldn’t expect it to fix itself.

You would repair it — because you understand how it was meant to work.

God has done the same for us.

Through Jesus, the way back is open.

And it’s not complicated.
